New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton

January 13th 2014

The existing Xtag baby tagging system at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton is in the process of increasing the security of their system through the addition of further perimeter readers and newly designed perimeter monitoring software.

The system is being extended past it's existing boundaries in order to increase the perimeter security of the baby tagging system. The current system covers the delivery, postnatal, maternity and neonatal wards. With the addition of the new perimeter zone, should anyone exit through an open door not only will the existing zone alarm but also any subsequent readers they get to. So security staff will then have an idea of which escape route the abductor is taking.

The full system is due to be completed and handed over end of February/beginning of March 2014.
