    Case Study 1

    As part of their commitment to provide patients in the maternity ward with excellent care, University Hospital in Coventry has committed to the Xtag Medical system for their vulnerable patients for a baby tagging system.

    The hospital is part of the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust, opened in 2006, with modern facilities, 1,005 beds, 26 operating theatres and state-of-the-art equipment. In 2017, UHCW NHS Trust became the Teaching Hospital of the Year at the Health and Safety Awards.

    Xtag Medical have been awarded the contract to install a baby tagging system at University Hospital Coventry. The system integrates with the existing bleep and paging system and reports all alarms events to their central security office to keep everyone aware of a possible situation.

    Working with Vinci Facilities and the Trust, we have now completed the installation, training and have gone live with the system.

  • Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport

    Case Study 2

    The main hospital in Newport, The Royal Gwent Hospital has more than 3,400 staff and 700+ beds, provides a full range of hospital services.

    Xtag Medical have had their baby tagging system installed in the Neonatal department at the Royal Gwent Hospital for the last twelve months and were then asked to install the system throughout the rest of maternity and completed training of all staff and gone live.

  • University of Wales Cardiff

    Case Study 3

    In 2018, Xtag Medical won the tender to Install their baby tagging system at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest NHS organisations in the UK.

    As part of its mission “Caring for People, Keeping People Well”, this major hospital with 1000+ beds in the Heath district of Cardiff, Wales has installed the Xtag Medical system. Work on Site began immediately to facilitate a secure environment for all new-borns.

    The full system went live in May with all commissioning and staff training done to the highest standards.

  • Liverpool Women's Hospital

    Case Study 4

    Liverpool Women's deliver over 8,600 babies, carry out 9,600 gynaecological procedures, care for 1000 preterm infants and aim to provide healthcare for women, babies and their families in a safe, friendly and caring environment. Their strategy to meet this aim is to ensure the safety of their vulnerable patients with an electronic tagging system. This is one of Europe’s largest maternity hospitals. They recently went out to European Tender for a new baby tagging system and Xtag Medical were awarded the contract.

Our comprehensive service package includes training the team at Liverpool Women's Hospital and to maintain/support the system in the coming months.

  • Rosewood Lodge at Littlebrook Hospital

    Case Study 5

    Xtag was awarded the contract for Rosewood Lodge at Littlebrook Hospital by Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT). KMPT has been rated outstanding for their care work and good overall in the most recent CQC inspection in January 2017. Xtag is proud to install our secure system that meets the high standards required by KMPT.

    Rosewood Lodge at Littlebrook Hospital is an eight-bed MBU in Dartford. It opened as a result of a lot of hard work from teams across the area, supporting mothers from across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

    Xtag Medical eight-bed just finished completion of the installation of their secure infant protection system at Littlebrook Hospital.

    The system was chosen for its high level of security utilising second by second monitoring of strap and tag in contact with the skin.

    Commissioning and go live dates to be given toward the end of July early August

  • Prince Charles Hospital Merthyr Tydfil

    Case Study 6

    After receiving great feedback from other hospitals, both in Wales and the UK, Prince Charles Hospital Merthyr Tydfil decided to swap out their existing obsolete baby tagging product for the super-secure Xtag Medical system.
    The maternity unit has benefited from a £6.5m refurbishment in early 2018, with more beds for premature sick babies, new birthing rooms, and operating theatre improvements to help women who live within Merthyr, Cynon Valley and RCT area.

    The contract to install Xtag medical baby tagging system was granted at the point when the main contractor Mitie, responsible for the full maternity unity refurbishment, was near to completion of works and at the end of the contract. Therefore, they asked if we could install our system urgently and we were able to do so: within two weeks the system was fully installed and commissioned!

    All Xtag Medical products are manufactured by Xtag in the UK and that means that our products required for our system are readily available with no fulfilment delays.

  • Sheffield Royal Hallamshire: Jessop Wing

    Case Study 7

    The Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield installed with the Xtag Medical baby tagging system to protect new-borns at Sheffield Jessops wing maternity hospital. The Jessop Wing maternity unit (opened in 2001) is the home of approximately 7,000 births every year.

    The facilities are purpose built, with a 22-bed labour ward, to meet the needs of both the standard birth experiences and specialist services alike (such as the High Dependency Unit). This large maternity unit has specialist services in a variety of areas: Antenatal Screening, Perinatal mental health, Substance misuse, Teenage pregnancy and Vulnerable women. The complex needs of this busy maternity unit require a high-performing and reliable security system for its vulnerable newborns.

    After going out to international tender, Xtag Medical once again exceeded the competition on its complete package of quality, security, price and service.

    We are pleased to announce that we have recently been given the contract to install the Xtag Medical baby tagging system at the Bedford Hospital NHS Trust.

    Bedford Hospital NHS Trust was established more than 200 years ago and provides high-quality maternity care for around 3000 women every year in the Cygnet Wing, their dedicated Women and Children’s unit specialising in services for postnatal women and their babies.

    The Xtag Medical baby tagging system will work to create a safe environment for all newborns in the Cygnet Wing.
