Dumfries and Galloway, the birthplace of the civil engineer and architect, Thomas Telford, gives us another environmental masterpiece.

The new £212 million state-of-the-art facility will feature 350 beds, single bedded en-suite rooms, a combined assessment unit, theatres complex, critical care unit, women’s and children’s unit, and outpatients department.

The NHS and the hospital developer, Laing O’Rourke, opted to protect the Infirmary’s newborns with the award winning XTAG Baby Tagging Solution, created by Active Tagging Limited – the U.K. market leader in RFID Baby Tagging Systems.

The tagging system is now ready for commissioning in conjunction with the hospital’s opening in December.

Chris Bullock, Active Tagging’s Managing Director says ‘we are very excited to be part of this project and look forward to going live in December.’
